Yes. The gel can be used for arthritis pain or to relieve pain in the legs, feet or hands. The active ingredient, diclofenac, is available in 50, 75 or 100 mg doses. Voltaren Gel is clinically proven to be just as effective as other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for reducing pain and inflammation in arthritis.
The gel works by blocking the production of prostaglandins, chemicals that cause inflammation and swelling in the body. This helps to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in the joints.

Voltaren Gel gel should start to work within 30-60 minutes. However, it can take up to 4-6 hours for the gel to start working and the amount of time it takes to decrease in response.
